So, I am officially unemployed as of Monday at noon, but, they are taking back my Blackberry and my keys on Monday. Taking a man’s Blackberry half a day early … that’s just cruel.
I’ve been looking for work since August (more on this tomorrow. A lot more) with no success, and, being a father, I’m am officially freaking out.
I understand that when you change bosses, sometimes they clear the decks, and I was okay until just the other day, when I overheard one of the “new” people (soon to be senior advisor) say to another of the new people:
“This will be my first ‘big girl’ job!”
And she was answered:
“I know! Me too!”
Then, then being RIF’ed hurt and hurt a lot.
Ouch. And funny, because apparently, you had a “big girl” job.
Definitely ouch. And almost funny. But, seriously…is there a point where you become overqualified to work in politics, or something?
I think in Utah, yes, over qualification comes up.
And there have got to be other “big girl” jobs out there waiting. I know I hate when people say things like that to me when I am stressed out, but still…
I think that Dick Cheney was once heard to have said this as well.
