Where do I start? About 100 years ago, I worked for the Democratic National Committee, stationed in Utah. One of the things I did for the Utah Party was run the party’s blog (on Blogger).
I was fired from that job (it’s in the book) and never got a chance to save the work I’d done that the next guy threw in the trash before he quit blogging for the party all together. It was silly (it’s in the book) of me not to get backups, and him to stop communicating. From what I heard, he hand delivered all the press releases he couldn’t deliver by fax. Email existed and was quite widely used.
About ten minutes after I got fired, I started up www.jmbell.org – a blog (it was 2007, okay?) that was meant to get out from under the restrictions I’d had, and really cut loose. By which I mean swearing. A lot.
I got a gig on the radio, which led to The LEFT Show and I kept complaining on the internet. I still do both, but more on a schedule now.
After 30 years of writing for other people, I decided to start writing for myself. This is the culmination of the last couple of years of those writings. I am quite happy with how this has all turned out, and I hope you’ll like it too!
