#10 The Working Family Agenda

Hi and thanks for checking out this week’s Working Family Agenda, I am Brian Faulkner.

This is a communication project of the Central Utah Federation of Labor and is funded through a Solidarity Grant from the AFL-CIO.
We are fortunate to have built a partnership with the folks at Defenestrate Media and The LEFT Show, who recognize that many of the basic issues facing the American middle class are often buried deep within, or even outside the 24 hour news cycle.

During the previous weeks I have touched on a variety of working family issues; a living wage, women’s rights, first responders, the unfairness of so-called “free trade”. Too often these subjects that matter to the security of working families never make the headline, and that is nothing more than sowing the seeds of disenfranchisement.
That is unacceptable.

Our commitment to communicating the message of The Working Family Agenda is more than talking points from a contrarian source. These are issues that affect all workers, regardless of background or belief. And of all these workers, individual voices that reflect the same core beliefs of respect, inclusion, and fairness.

In the coming weeks, we are going to introduce some new voices to The Working Family Agenda.

  • New Voices that reflect the diversity of working families.
  • New Voices that make personal the issues of working families.
  • New Voices that demonstrate our commitment to advancing the issues that matter to the rest of us.

The voices of The Working Family Agenda, mine or another, is the voice of a movement; men and women, gay and straight, religious or agnostic. It is inclusive of Latinos, Asians, Africans, Europeans, and all immigrant workers.
And we are one.

I will be back next week for another episode of The Working Family Agenda. Thanks again to our hosts at The LEFT Show, and their sponsors. And thank you the listener.

Until next week, I am Brian Faulkner, and I wish you peace and prosperity.
