21 years I’ve been watching this show …. if only it had been on the air that long …
From TV Squad –
The show officially hit the airwaves on a local Minneapolis station, KTMA, on Thanksgiving Day in 1988 by a young, fresh-faced Joel Hodgson. The rest, as people who rely on cheap cliches to heighten the dramatic effect with their weak words, is history. You can read the rest at the Satellite News site, the most exhaustive and interesting MST3K site on the Internet.
Comedy Central used to have Thanksgiving MST3K Marathons, but they quit doing that years ago. I remember one Turkey Day a long time back, I had driven to St. George from Denver to visit my folks and flipping channels at the motel, I came across the marathon. Missed dinner.
Crow T. Robot!
Oh no, not MST3K too. I am starting to think that you are the Democrat version of me… LOL. Another great show, but I have only seen about 5 episodes. Would love to see them all. Wonder if Netflix…
NetFlix has a bunch AND they’re streaming them. I watch about 2 a week.
Oh man has it really been that long? MST3K was must watch TV for the Logical Husband and I when we first got married. Then when we moved to MN I went to work for a company that worked on the phone system for their production company. The guys were just as silly off the set. One day we went in for a scheduled service call and there at the reception desk – posed as if it was working on the computer – was a skeleton! Joel was ducked around the corner to watch the reaction of anyone walking in the door that day. My tech just walked in and started laughing.
