Wexler is quitting.

He’s decided to go and be the boss of something called the Center for Middle East Peace because, I’m guessing, he’s found spending time with his caucus members talking about mani-pedis, moisturizer pros and cons and the different techniques for toe nail painting as far beneath him as it actually is.

How the Democratic Caucus in the House is going to keep the Republican’t wedgie patrol at bay with Wexler leaving is beyond my comprehension. I mean, Rep. Grayson can only be one place at a time, you know?

From Wexler

“Today, I am announcing that I will be accepting the position of president of the Center for Middle East Peace and will leave Congress effective in January of 2010.”

Quitter.

“Taking over as president of the Center for Middle East Peace offers me an unparalleled opportunity to work on behalf of Middle East peace for an important and influential non-profit institute. After much discussion with my family, I have decided that I cannot pass up on this opportunity.”

Quitter.

Nicole at Crooks and Liars sums it up:

Jeez, all we need now is one less liberal to push those damn Blue Dogs into doing the right thing.
