Today was only the second time I’ve heard you on the radio. I heard you say that you read the house bill in 2 days and that you work 16 hours a day. So that would leave you 16 hours, if you don’t sleep mind you, to read the 1,076 page stimulus bill. So that’s 67.0625 pages per hour. Possible I guess, but I find it hard to believe you could read it and understand it in that time. Especially since you had not slept in 2 days. Maybe you joke like that a lot, but when your using the fact that you read the bill in 2 days as your basis for attacking republicans, I think it should be a little more solid.
I see where you’re coming from, and, as you don’t listen often, I’ll explain.
1 – I have chronic insomnia. I sleep maybe 3-4 hours a day.
2 – I read fast. Very fast. I knock off one to two novels a day. There’s a long story to why, and, it’s personal, so, if we ever meet, I’ll fill you in.
3 – I smoke. Smoking gives me extra reading time that non-smokers don’t have.
4 – It’s a bill. Once you get into the cadence of the language, they read REALLY fast.
Lawmakers have staff to read bills. It is also, I would think, part of their job. It was available for EVERYONE to read. It still is. That so many Republicans stood up and LIED about not having it to read, not having time to read it – whatever – is disgusting behavior.
When you consider that they said it wasn’t available one moment and then complained about several different parts of it the next, should highlight the lies they were telling, but, again, the liberal media missed it.
So, in the interest of honesty –
I started reading it about midday on a Friday and finished it in my car port on Monday morning. Second, I only work about 6-8 hours a day on the weekend. So, you’re right, I did stretch to make a point.
In my defense – members of congress have Thursday through Sunday off, so, they had the time.
