CLINTON
This ad from Hillary Clinton’s camp reminds me, sadly, of both the LBJ nuclear girl ad, and every republican ad run since 9/11.
It’s an ad right out of the Bush Campaign play book and I find it irritating.
OBAMA
Um … Neener, neener? I know how important it is to respond to the turd-bombs like the one above, but, … I find keeping the theme of her attack ad for the slap back a little tacky. It’s a bad idea. For people already swayed to the Clinton camp, the Obama ad becomes background noise that reasserts it memory bump every time it plays. That’s bad.
It is, however, a much better ad than the Clinton ad. It’s one of the things that Obama does so well: he gives specific instances and action from his past to support his claims, as opposed to Clinton’s constant wailing that she’s been there and done that but can’t squeeze out an answer when she’s asked for an example.
So, I call it 51% – 49% for Obama. These are both pretty shitty ads.
Did you notice the phone only rings four times in Obama’s ad? Clearly we need a commander-in-chief who can wake up faster!
My version: “Thank you for calling. All of our presidents are busy helping other customers. Please stay on the line. Your call is important to us, and will be answered in the order it was received.”
