It was a meeting of the Georges: Bush and Parvanov.
Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov’s first name is just a vowel off _ but that was close enough for Bush.
“I call him George. He calls me George,” Bush joked as the two leaders appeared together at a news conference.
Bush’s quip had echoes of an earlier statement at his first stop last week in the Czech Republic, where he talked about tensions between the U.S. and Russia and said he had a message for President Putin: “I call him Vladimir.”
Bush ended Monday’s news conference with a word of gratitude from one George to another.
“George, thanks for having me,” he told Parvanov.
Can I George? Can I keep the bunny? I love him and squeeze him and call him George!
Of mice and ???
Cletus, maybe?
Did you ever see the arc of episodes of Arrested Development with Charlize Theron? He reminds me of her in that role, yet in a far more sinister way.
