Issue #32 – Hold 322 – Did you miss us?

The Secret Service #2 This week on Hold 322! JC and JM return with new offerings from Galactus’ Snack bag. Nightwing‘s battle with his ancestor continues and the story finally gets epic. Meanwhile, Catwoman defends the Penguin from his Talon attacker. I think she could have waited a bit longer, but that’s just me. Justice League gives us a good story again, finally, but the stand out is the Shazam story at the end. The Incredible Hulk gives us a big reveal, while Matt Fraction repeats the Demon in a Bottle story arc in Iron Man.

We learn that IDW is bringing back The Crow (emo metal-heads and pro-wrestling fans rejoice!) and we talk about the Green Arrow trailer.

All this and The Secret Service! Face front, true believers! It’s Hold 322!

Issue #28 – A Feast Worthy of VOLSTAGG!

The Secret Service #1This week on Hold 322… Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons collaborate in a bloody and fun look at the British Secret Service. Poor Mark Hamill. Jason Aaron says goodbye to Wolverine with the help of Steve Dillon. Thor gets a dot-one issue featuring our favorite member of the Warriors Three: VOLSTAGG! and Jeff and I tell you about our new religion featuring that Voluminous Asgardian.

In other news we learn that nobody likes the current DC figures and Jeff asks who should be the next Bruce Banner…

All this and IDW’s Wednesday offerings! Face front, true believers! It’s Hold 322!

Issue #24 – Hold 322 – To Me, My Galactus!

Saga #1This week on Hold 322! Fantastic Four #604 wraps up its long long long running story line. If you thought Johnny coming back from the dead was something, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet! Huntress ends, but like Children’s Crusade, didn’t really need this final issue. The new Avengers Assemble feels like a comic written for kids, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The Ray ends, I get the issue of Incredible Hulk I should have gotten 3 issues ago, and a very important conversation is had in the pages of Captain America. We come to the defense of newspaper comic strips, and Brian K. Vaughn and Fiona Staples give us epic sci-fi fantasy, the likes of which we rarely see, in their new Saga comic. All this and Bob’s Question of the week!

Face front, true believers, It’s Hold 322!

Holy Buckets, Batman! Hold 322 – Issue #3

The QuestionThis week, our dynamic duo are joined in the Defenestrate Media studios by fellow fanboy Robert Easton. Jeff gives us his take on some of last week’s titles. Jon covers Action Comics #2 and notices that Oliver Queen is sprouting a goatee in Green Arrow #2.

We discuss the current state of the various story-lines, how DC is screwing up with Superman, what Dan Didio’s comment that Ultimate Crisis didn’t happen means to Jon’s fanboy obsession with The Question, and the Barnes and Noble tantrum against DC’s digital deal with Amazon. All this and more right-wing frothing at the mouth over fictional characters in this week’s Hold 322!
