They’re not ALL mad and angry, you know?

Heya Jason.

I just listened to your segment about Scalia and his “racial entitlements” comment. I was out on the steps of the Supreme Court (along with about 200 others – Freedom Riders from SC, NAACP, AFL-CIO, LoWV, and many others who were there to show support for keeping Sect.5 kept in the Voters Protection).

A number of people stood and spoke to the crowd, including MLK III, John Lewis, and Al Sharpton, as groups of people were allowed into the court to watch the proceedings. We were out there for several hours, and told that we’d be given word on the proceedings immediately as they became available.

That was the scene, and it just happened to be Rev. Al who was at the mic, when the first word came out. Those came from justice Scalia, and as expected – I’m certain – they OFFENDED all those gathered there. I was standing not 20 from the podium, and saw the veins pop out on Al Sharpton’s forehead, and his speech became very angry.

I haven’t heard another word from Scalia, not a word, and it’s no secret that he’s a bigot. But honestly, I’m convinced that his intention, by choosing exact those words to be the first thing we heard, was to show his contempt for the people standing out on those steps, in particular. In his arrogance, he could care less that the whole world would hear it. Anyway, just wanted to share that with you. Love the show, Keep on rockin’!

I passed this along to Jason for you, Nina. Who knows when he’ll get it. He really only pops up when he’s about to do something he finds clever. A new Bat Sh@t Crazy, for instance, or giving his dog the Dutch Oven. Stuff like that.
