First, a quick hat tip to JasonThe at the Sidetrack for posting this AFTER he announced his temporary retirement from the blogging world – whatever that’s all about.

So, imagine you’re a gay Republican, a member of the Log Cabin Republicans (which means that you admit what you are and don’t invent ways to punish your own while cruising the public bathrooms in America’s airports) and you’re watching another historic vote attempting to grant legitimacy to – well – the love you feel – your life – your existence.

When members of your own party – THE REPUBLICAN PARTY – crush the bill and keep you, your relationships and your rights in the fear-box of second class citizenship, what do you do? Blame Democrats, what else? You guys would do very well in Utah … except for the whole “gay” thing, of course.

Not one single Republican vote in the New York Senate to legalize what shouldn’t be illegal in the first place, NOT ONE REPUBLICAN VOTE, and you insane, two legged, political contradictions blame the folks that are the only allies you have in fulfilling the promise of “Liberty and Justice for ALL.”

From the Log Cabin of Lost Cognitive Thought:

“Today we share in the frustration and disappointment that the Senate did not pass the marriage equality bill. We are deeply saddened that the Democratic Conference failed to secure the votes they promised, undermining the possibility of a credible bipartisan vote of conscience on the merits of marriage equality. Winning marriage equality in New York requires the Democrats to keep their promises, and Log Cabin will continue to work to ensure that Republicans vote their conscience when that finally happens.”

As JasonThe said: They’re gay Republicans. Can’t be too surprised when they don’t make any sense. It looks to me like the GOP is treating your “continued work to encourage Republicans to vote their conscience” is being treated as the punchline that they think you are. They are voting their conscience, you idiots. They. Hate. Gay. People.
