Over at the Utah Democrats website, Congressman Matheson left a giant turd on the front steps of the Tribune and the state party dutifully, and immediately, posted it on their website*.
One of the problems I have with Matheson is how easily he espouses the GOP talking points before he gathers up his false emotion to tell you that you’re only getting screwed because he cares so much:
Because the issue of health care reform is so complex and the imperative to get it right is so strong, I believe it is worth taking the necessary time to debate, amend, review and discuss with my constituents, any comprehensive bill. We can do this and bring affordability, stability and better health to all of us.
It’s very easy to say “slow down!” when you’re in possession of the best health coverage that tax payer money can buy – and when, even if you weren’t in Congress, you could afford all on your own.
Matheson’s on the record, at Fox News – twice – talking about the need for the free market to fix health care … well, I’ve been waiting for the last few weeks to see the Matheson Health Insurance / Health Care Free Market Fix-It Bill – and, as you already know – according to Jim – he just wants to talk about it some more.
You know – I’ve always wanted to win the lotto but, I don’t live in a state that has a lotto so that qualifies as WISHFUL THINKING – Just like Mathson thinking that the free market – the chuckleheads who drove the health care bus here under their own power – will find a way to make health care coverage fair, accessible and affordable when they’re making hundreds of billion in profits with their Kick The Sick policies of today. You can’t win if you don’t play – and doing little more than going on Fox News to talk about how much you dislike poor people doesn’t count.
So, it’s a simple request for Congressman Matheson – show us your bill, or a Blue Dog bill, or a couple of ideas written on a napkin – SOMETHING – that you think will fix this mess (only one rule – you can’t say “let the insurance companies fix themselves” – that’s not a bill, that’s your lobbyist’s checkbook talking) – or stop blowing smoke up the collective orifice of the people of Utah.

*the really sad thing is – the Utah Democrats website has a lot of good information about the need for, and the need for speed for, health care reform, but they’re held to Matheson’s talking points (copyright GOP) because, I assume, they’re afraid he actually will discover a way to do less to help and more to damage the credibility of Democrats in Utah. Anything is possible.
