Oh, my. I may just abandon gaffer’s tape.
From D’vice:
Duct tape is a magical tool, something that comes in handy all the time. As most people know, it’s one of the best things to keep in a toolbox, as you never know when you’re going to need it. But what if you want your duct tape to be even stronger, even more versatile? Well, then it sounds like you might want a roll of 3M’s nuclear-grade duct tape.
Yes, 3M’s Performance Plus Duct Tape is designed for use in nuclear power plants. It improves upon regular duct tape by working at temperatures of up to 200 degrees. It also can be removed without leaving a residue, it’s waterproof, and you can easily write on it. And it’s even available to laypeople for a mere $14 per roll. If it’s good enough for nuclear power plants, its good enough for you.
I may invest in massive rolls and wrap my entire home in it. 😉
I used this stuff to tape my back porch door shut and keep it attached to the door frame two winters ago after a rogue gust of wind tore it off the hinges. (I didn’t have the money to get the door replaced or fixed at the time). This stuff is gold I tell you, gold.
