So … Chris Cannon doesn’t know who the Disabled American Veterans are… [and HERE]
I guess he doesn’t know the Fraternal Order of Police, either.
The bill for reauthorization of the COPS program, hit the floor of the People’s House this afternoon and Rep. Cannon, Utah’s giant bloviating, fatuous gasbag for the 3rd CD, voted against it. He really must relish the role of Permanent Minority, because the bill passed 381 yea / 34 nay.
It’s the COPS program. You remember, the one that makes it so that we have more cops on the streets? Cannon voted against it. I guess he figures that since the voters in the 3rd CD aren’t paying attention, he can do whatever the hell he wants and get away with him History certainly supports his argument.
Who wants to be $0.75 that the Deseret Morning Republican Party News-letter either gives him a pass or lets him make an unchallenged claim that Democrats are to blame? Maybe, just maybe, he can find a way to blame the kids Mark Foley was stalking … [and HERE]
I cannot believe that the people of Utah’s 3rd CD keep sending this bonehead back to Congress. Is it funny? Is it the punch line to a joke that I haven’t heard? I really don’t get it.
Meh…there are a lot better examples of Cannon’s foolishness than this (like his voting record against veterans). I actually agree with his vote against COPS.
If law enforcement were more about keeping us safe and less about punishing recreational drug users than maybe I’d think differently but since the Drug War is currently the #1 responsibility for most police departments and I don’t actually consider its targets a real threat to my safety I’m not going to lose any sleep about Cannon’s vote against federal dollars to local police departments.
