Democrats across the country are singing out about the Bold New Direction that America will be going come November. Why, you may ask, do we think that America needs to go in a new, and bold, direction? Well, as we’ve been saying for months and months and months; here are a few examples:

* Median family income has dropped every year of the current total Republican rule by a total of $1,700

* For the first time in 30 years, people with college degrees are seeing their incomes stagnate, with their wages falling 5 percent from 2000 to 2004

* The typical family is paying $1,200 more a year for health insurance – up 55 percent in real terms since 2000

* In 2006, families are paying $3,200 more than in 2001 due to rising energy costs and gas prices have reached the 2nd highest level in history

* Under Republican rule, the economy is moving in the wrong direction; skyrocketing gas prices and rising health care costs are leaving American families with less money to spend
