On December 18, 1970 an underground nuclear test called “Baneberry” was detonated 900 feet beneath the surface of the Nevada Test Site. This picture and accompanying map show the results of this test; a radioactive ploom that rose more than 10,000 feet into the air. Do Orrin Hatch, Bob Bennett, Chris Cannon or Rob Bishop need any more evidence than this that underground testing beneath an already contaminated landscape is bad for every American citizen living downwind?
